Industrial Rehabilitation and
Functional Capacity Evaluation
(Volume I and II )
In Industrial Rehabilitation, author Saunders, discusses real-life issues clinicians encounter, including: symptom magnification, inappropriate goal setting, lack of progress because of pain, referral sources "dumping" patients, lack of cooperation by the treating provider, insurer, attorney, etc. and separating physical and psychosocial barriers. A complete model for Work Hardening and Conditioning programs is presented. This volume is a ready-to-implement documentation and QA system, complete with all the Saunders forms, standards of practice and QA objectives.
Functional Capacity Evaluation is an introduction to the Saunders FCE method. The method involves true endurance testing - a baseline test, followed by two, eight-hour days is recommended. Read the manual to find out why and how. You may not think you can dedicate this much time for an FCE. Think again! At the very least, reading this guide will help you improve your existing FCE, even if personnel or reimbursement issues prohibit an adoption of a full program. We include our forms, standards of practice, and report samples.
